BOARD MASTER
A game made in one week for the 7DRL 2025.
The mad wizard BOARD MASTER has trapped you in an ever-shifting dungeon. Can you escape before your tile pouch runs out?
How to play
The dungeon consists of six randomized levels, with different enemy types roaming around. In each level, you need to reach the staircase at the opposite end.
In the bottom left of the screen is your tile pouch. You have two tiles that you can rotate and select. When you click one of the non-corner edge tiles in the map, the selected tile from the pouch will move into the clicked slot, pushing the rest of the row or column forwards by one. Use this to manipulate the board to your advantage. Each level, you have 8 of these tile moves available. Destroying an enemy increases tile move amount by 1, to the maximum of 8. A green arrow will tell you if you can click a tile.
You can attack enemies by moving towards them. Be wary though, they will attack you if they survive the the attack. After each level, your current health will increase by one, if not at max health.
After each level, you get to choose from three power-ups:
Max health: +1 to max health. Doesn't affect current health.
Attack bonus: +3 temporary damage. Will decrease by one every time you attack.
Defense bonus: +3 temporary defense. Will decrease by one every time you get hit.
Keyboard controls:
arrow keys/WASD: Movement/attack
Space: rotate selected tile
Tab: toggle between tiles
Esc: Quit back to main menu
